Magnetic Hill

Magnetic Hill is a unique place in Leh. It appears as a small hill with notable slopes. However, in reality, it is a downhill road that creates an optical illusion. The cars and other objects on the road feel as if they are rolling uphill, defying gravity. However, they are rolling downhill.   

Gurudwara Shri Patthar Sahib

Gurudwara Shri Patthar Sahib is a very beautiful Gurudwara that was constructed in memory of Guru Nanak. It is located just 25 km away from Leh and is 12000 ft above sea level. It was built in the year 1517 and is highly respected by the native Tibetan Buddhists even today. 

River Indus

The Indus River is one of the most famous rivers of South Asia. It flows through three places- Kashmir, China, and Pakistan. According to various sources, its exact location has been deemed to be the foothills of the Himalayas. In the ancient days, on the banks of this river, the Indus Valley Civilisation was born.   

River Zanskar 

The Zanskar River is a tributary of the River Indus. Despite only being a tributary, it equals the Indus in terms of volume. This grand river originates near the northeastern part of the Great Himalayan range. It drains both the Zanskar range and the Eastern Himalayas. 

Alchi Monastery 

Alchi Monastery is a significant tourist and spiritual spot in the Leh District. It is also known as Alcho Gompa and was founded by Rinchen Zangpo. This beautiful monastery is best known for its breathtaking wall paintings and artefacts. All of these paintings are a testament to the Indo-Himalayan art style.   

Nubra Valley

Nubra Valley, locally known as Dumra, is a notable region in Ladakh. It has gained the attention of many tourists around the world due to its one-of-a-kind landscape style. It is a blend of desert and lush green nature. One of those places where sand dunes coexist with greenery. It is also the home of the Diskit Monastery, which houses the statue of a Maitreya Buddha.  

Turtuk Valley

Turtuk is a village that is located in Ladakh. It is situated between the Himalayas and the Karakoram Range. It is called the Apricot Capital of the World and is the home of the Balti culture. Since it is considered to be the northernmost village of India, tourists can see Pakistan from here.  

Thang Village

Thang Village, also known as Dhothang, is located in Chorbat in Leh. Along with Tuktuk, this is also considered to be the northernmost village of India. Its location is on the Line of Control between India and Pakistan. This place has been very recently opened for tourists. However, one needs to have certain documents with them.  

Pagong Lake

Pagong Lake, commonly known as Pagong Tso, is a lake that spreads through Eastern Ladakh to Western Tibet. Recently, it has earned a reputation as a tourist attraction due to its changing colours. In addition, it is also known to be the highest saltwater lake in the world. Due to its high altitude, it also attracts numerous species of birds.   

Leh Palace

Leh Palace is also known as Lachen Palkar Palace. It is one of the most notable palaces in Ladakh. It was constructed by Sengge Namgyal in 1600 AD. This royal palace was abandoned in the 19th century due to an attack by the Dogra Forces. During this attack, the royal family was forced to shift to the Stok Palace.  

Tsemo Castle

Tsemo Castle, which is also known as Leh Fort Complex, is a spiritual place for Leh locals. It is very near the Leh Palace. The structure of this place is maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India. Its location is the highest point of Leh.
